TODAY'S DOCTORS OF CHIROPRACTIC HAVE SIX OR MORE YEARS OF COLLEGE.
Have you ever wondered just how much education your Chiropractor
has? The facts may very well surprise you.
Today, at least six years of highly specialized college training
are required to graduate. Chiropractic has gained recognition as
a comprehensive, scientifically sound force among the healing arts.
Only chiropractic concerns itself with the interrelationship of
structure and body functions, and only chiropractic effectively
utilizes natural, drugless methods of treatment, primarily spinal
adjustments.
In addition to meeting stringent educational requirements, Chiropractors
must complete approximately 600 hours of internship, which qualifies
them for licensure in all states and Canadian provinces.
To graduate with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, each candidate
passes the demanding National Board Examination. Then, doctors must
apply to state governmental or professional licensing board and
pass a still more difficult test before being granted the privilege
to practice.
A chiropractic education never ends. Doctors complete yearly postgraduate
instruction for license renewal and in order to stay current on
the latest scientific research.
Look at these typical basic educational requirements listed on
the adjacent chart for medical school graduates compared to those
of Doctors of Chiropractic.
